There are many opportunities and areas for businesses, churches, schools and individuals to get involved and make a difference:

· Food & Clothing:

The biggest need we have is for a regular bulk supply of healthy non-perishable food for distribution to the needy. Why not set up a canned monthly food & clothing collection with your staff / church / school. Or they can make up food bags consisting of: 2kg sugar beans, 1x jar peanut butter, 1kg sugar, 1x 250g bag milk powder, 1 bar soap, 1 bar green soap, 1kg stamp, 20 tea bags, 375ml oil, 500g soya mince. This will feed a family of four for a week and cost +/-R120-00 ($17-00). Any new or second hand clothing (good condition) and blankets.

· Doctors, Nurses, Optometrists and Dentists:

Many older people and AIDS victims do not have the strength nor taxi fare to get to the clinics\or hospitals. We need sponsorship for doctors, or volunteer doctors to go out to the poor.

· Building Materials:

New or second hand building materials and tools for repairing of homes that are not weather proof and for the building of houses/ rooms for some of the orphans etc.

· Work & Training:

Work opportunities and training for the unemployed - especially for women and young people. Volunteers who are prepared to share their skills and teach others. This can be done on weekends at our base in Hillcrest.

· Transport:

Sponsorship for a 4X4 LDV for food deliveries and building projects. Cash for the payment of taxi fares for the team and for poor people and children needing to get to school, hospital and clinics.

  • Ministry Volunteers & One Day Outreaches

Teams from churches to go from house to house to pray with the sick and share the gospel. People to help labour and build bases, homes, paint, host kids clubs etc.

· Intercession

Many of us underestimate the value of our most powerful resource and greatest weapon: prayer. Whether short or long; sophisticated or simple; a ministry or a devotional your prayers are highly prized and desired by this ministry.

Please contact us should you wish to receive our monthly newsletter for more specific prayer needs.

· Zulu Bibles

To provide Zulu Bibles and teaching materials.

  • General Sponsorship and Donations

This ministry relies solely on donations from individuals and churches who have a heart for the poor. All donations are used directly for the poor and no deductions are made for administration, except bank fees.

  • Once off cash donations to help build and equip the local house bases from which outreach takes place.

  • Springside - a place of saftey & refuge: Contribute to the monthly running costs of R9000-00.

  • Wages for field workers:   Our local pastoral field workers, care givers and teachers are paid around R1800-00 a month, we need sponsors for them as they are the back bone of this mercy ministry going from house to house to identify and care for those in need, especially those dying or orphaned by AIDS.

  • Sponsoring a child: Direct sponsorship normally starts at R300-00 ($35-00) a month. We will give you details, send you photos and up dates etc.( if you like), link you in with local administrators and ensure that all funds are properly used.

Donations can be made to the following account, preferably by direct electronic transfer.

· Local volunteers

We are always looking for help of all kinds. If you live in the area and would like to help, please contact us. We suggest that you start by coming to the valley with us on one of our day outreaches and then see where you are lead to offer your services. We are looking for local people with skills to teach small groups of teenage orphans on the weekends at our pringside base, to help on discipling camps for children, to pack clothes, to collect and pack food, to help in clinics, repair buildings, etc.

  • Visiting teams of volunteers from overseas

As we are a small, very hands on, organisation we cannot take many teams, however, we do need teams of volunteers who are prepared to get their hands dirty and also can come with fund to do the work. We do not charge volunteers but we ask them to raise funds so that when they work here they can have money for building material, food, books etc. to bless the orphans and families they are serving. Teams will also have to pay for their own transport and food which we will advise on. We will set up a program depending on the size, nature and experience of the team.
